Drive-in Theater in Yomitan
A drive-in theater will be held on a former airport runway in Yomitan village in Okinawa Prefecture for three days, from Friday, December 23 to Sunday, December 25, 2016.
Drive-in theaters started in the US in the 1930s. Cinema screens were set up in large parking lots, and patrons enjoyed movies from the comfort of their cars.
The drive-in theaters of the good old days has been revived in a collaborative event between the Okinawa International Movie Festival and CINEMA CIRCUS.
Guest will be able to enjoy movies on a big screen from the comfort of their cars without being disturbed.
